scheduling

Sessions are offered in-home or virtually. In-person availability is very limited and may have a waitlist.

School-year sessions are held Monday through Thursday, and Saturday mornings. Fridays are reserved for makeup sessions as needed. Sessions are held regularly on the same day and at the same time each week.

During the summer months (June, July, and August) sessions are held before 5pm. Summer availability forms are circulated in the spring and a new weekly schedule for the summer months is agreed upon.

Barton recommends two hours of weekly instruction to meet the fidelity standard which averages to eight sessions per month. This is typically structured with two one-hour weekly sessions.

virtual instruction

Virtual sessions are held via Zoom. It is important that a space conducive to learning and free from distractions be made available for sessions. During virtual lessons a computer or laptop with access to high speed internet, a mouse, webcam, headphones, and microphone is essential. Lined paper and a pencil (with eraser!) should always be available.

tuition

Each one-hour virtual session is $40.
There is a minimum monthly tuition of $250. When seven or more virtual sessions are scheduled, the total tuition will naturally exceed that $250 minimum.

In-person sessions start at $50 per hour.

Eight sessions per month is always the goal.

invoicing

Monthly invoices are sent out by the 20th of the prior month. When monthly invoices are sent, we’ll also confirm any session changes or reschedules, so everything is set for the month ahead.

Tuition is due on the first of each month. Venmo or Zelle transfers are easiest in the virtual setting, but mailed checks are always welcome too.
